As the co-organizer of Ladies that UX Atlanta where we have 2,800+ members, I am actively building an inclusive design community for women, femmes, and non-binary creatives.

We focus on building skills and connections, and have covered topics ranging from entry-level to advanced. Our meetups are interactive and discussion-based; even when we host expert lectures, we format them to be conversational and hands-on. 🙌

Our accomplishments from the past year that I’m super proud of:

  • We have exceeded 2800 members

  • Grew our leadership team from 2 to 4 BIPOC

  • Upped the caliber of our content to provide intermediate to advanced industry topics

  • Had an audience member openly offer a job to one of our speakers

  • Hosted several book giveaways donated by UX leaders in Atlanta

  • Facilitated connections and networking amongst members despite a pandemic

  • Started up a Youtube channel

Mentorship plays a key role in my growth as a design professional, and it gives me fulfillment and purpose to be able to mentor others on platforms like Amazing Design People List, Design Buddies, and General Assembly.

I’ve mentored 50+ people in various stages of their career journey on multiple topics including mastering technical and soft skills, UX methodologies, design team rituals, communication strategy, and leadership growth. ☕

Here’s what people say about my mentorship

“I reached out to Ying after logging the first six months of my first UX/UI job, hoping for advice about how to maximize my experience in the new role & industry. She 10000% delivered- honestly, I wish I had reached out sooner.

A perfect mix of conversation & practical advice, I really got a lot out of our session. Her recommendations went above and beyond the hard skills of UX & she was really able to help me think through time management, planning, corporate citizenship & relationships, advocating for UX within my organization & building my network within the company. I took nonstop notes.”
